The STEAM of Photography: Freezing and Capturing Moments with Master Teaching Artist, Jessica Wallach

How long is a second or a part of a second, what is the fastest someone can move in a second, and how do you record that on a camera? In this workshop participants investigate fractions and the basic concepts of math by playing games and taking photos and changing shutter speed. What happens when you take a photo for 1 full second versus 1/50th of a second versus 1/4000? Does it freeze the motion or capture the motion? The artist will bring digital cameras that participants can experiment with by taking photos and videos that capture and freeze motion.
