Story Tapestries is thrilled to announce our 2023 Community Voices Award recipients!
Meet the awardees:
Ann Joseph has been a dedicated pianist and educator for over 65 years. She worked in music therapy at the Magruder School for children with significant disabilities, which led to recording music for the blind at the Library of Congress Division for the Blind and Print Disabled. Her enduring influence spans generations, impacting musicians, educators, and enthusiasts alike, including her most recent album released on the occasion of her 90th birthday!
Dr. Susan Snyder has been a thought leader in the realm of education since 1976. She has codified her understanding and experience in a learning approach called Total Learning. Today you can access Total Learning Digital resources in a custom-made app on Story Tapestries’ website, continuing Sue’s legacy of sharing a love for meaningful and authentic learning experiences for every child.
Mimi Hassanein has been an advocate for children for nearly five decades. She passionately believes in forging connections between diverse cultures, often remarking that “food and art are universal languages.” Mimi’s unwavering commitment to the community has been a cornerstone for the growth and success of Story Tapestries.
