Job Title: Innovation and Partnerships Director

Job Type: Salaried FTE; 5 days/week

Potential salary: $47,000- 52,000 

2 weeks of paid vacation plus specific federal and school holidays off 

The Innovation Manager is responsible for developing/maintaining long-term partnerships, coordinating programs related to those partnerships, and supporting development work including writing grants and donor management as well as constructing innovative, comprehensive programs and program strategies.

Duties Include: 

  • Collaborates with the Executive Director, Development Director and the Program Manager to work on the Strategic outlook on the development growth for the company
  • Collaborates on and contributes to written material for grants, funding requests, website, and marketing material 
  • Works with the ED to research, design, plan and execute innovative programs that serve to help communities build their own comprehensive framework for success 
  • Consistently communicates with current collaborators and clients
  • Seeks out and builds collaborative relationships between ST and program partners 
    • Making cold calls, sending out marketing material, attending meetings
  • Primary contact for coordinating performances and programs with current and new partnerships during out of school time hours:
    • Communicates with existing and potential collaborators
    • Sets up program budgets and writes contracts
    • Identifies and contracts artists
    • Sends the invoices
    • Schedules dates
  • Supports the network of teaching artists including scheduling, and supporting them by as needed attending planning meetings and assisting with evaluations
  • Supports the Story Tapestries’ ability to develop relationships with donors, community leaders, and foundations 
    • Includes multiple forms of communication, written and verbal, engaging the above people in programming and fundraising
  • Attends informational meetings, webinars and networking events on behalf of Story Tapestries
  • Attends conferences, showcases, and other events that promote the organization
  • Documents programs in writing and with digital media
  • Writes emails, proposals, and communication materials
  • Supports our database of donors and clients
  • Uses Dropbox, Google Drive, and external hard drives
  • Manages Volunteers and Interns as applicable
  • Works from home but is able to drive to partners sites and meetings on a regular basis 
  • Supports the board

  • Confident and comfortable speaking in front of others
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office, Social Media and Google applications
  • Requires excellent communication skills in person and over the phone
  • Diplomatic, Patient and calm in stressful situations 
  • Past Experience connected to education, the arts, and youth. 
  • 3-5 years of experience in administration and management
  • Understanding the importance of working in an open, collaborative, multicultural, high-integrity office
  • Previous grant writing experience
