Praneetha Akula

Bio

Praneetha has been teaching and performing with Story Tapestries since Spring 2022. As a Classical Indian dance teacher and choreographer, she connects cultures through dance. She has instructed workshops to young students on political leaders in the Indian Diaspora, worked as the scriptwriter, choreographer, and co-producer for original renditions of an ancient Hindu Picatthe Sidwell Friends School, directed the production of “Lion King, Jr.” at the Imagination Stage, taught yoga and Bharatanatyam Incorporate Wellness Classes, and helped senior populations in Washington, D.C. learn the benefits of Indian classical dance. In 2021, Praneetha presented a STEM workshop at the National Arts Integration Conference with the Kennedy Center.
