A young child who has suffered trauma is constantly in “flight or fight” mode. To slow down and reflect, ask thoughtful questions, and use their senses to connect with their body, mind, and each other are important steps in processing trauma. This is what Story Tapestries invites us each to do – to pause, step back, and then lean in. You have helped over 3 million children, families, and seniors reconnect and feel JOY.
The arts help us see what is POSSIBLE!
Story Tapestries uses the arts as a powerful tool to create accessible, open spaces and opportunities for individuals to reach their highest potential and to work together for a more inclusive community.
This is accomplished by:
- Providing innovative, custom-designed performances, workshops and hands-on community educational experiences;
- Designing programs that develop skills, connect individuals, elevate diverse voices and celebrate youth, families, adults, and seniors; and
- Engaging and impacting individuals where they live, work and thrive.
Headquartered in Montgomery County, Maryland, virtual and in-person programs (in Maryland, DC, West Virginia, and North Carolina) have engaged over 3 million people since we became a 501c3 in 2010. Each donated dollar goes a long way to making this possible!
We invite you to choose the amount and means of supporting that works best for you.
