Vision for Equity:
Many of our youth and adults have lost safe spaces, their voice, their sense of connection to the community and personal power. By leveraging the cultural capital of the arts and that of our partnerships and relationships, we are creating access to resources, safe spaces, and opportunities for creative expression. Together, we actively support and engage in individual and community development. The end goal is for participants to use the self-actualization tools explored with Story Tapestries to take personal responsibility to make the change they want to see in themselves, their community, and the world.
Anti-Racist Statement:
Story Tapestries strives to create societal change. We stand as a network and community of artists, educators, community leaders, and business members, listening and speaking up for those lives oppressed by systemic racism, learned prejudice, and bias. We as an organization, a network of individuals collaborating together, commit to creating safe, equitable, inclusive spaces for listening, dialogue, and action, both in person and online. Story Tapestries is actively committed to seeking diversity, inclusivity, equity, and accessibility in our direct work with the community as well as in our recruiting and hiring practices.
