Program Impact

Weaving Our Tapestry - Our Impact in 2023: Over 1,483,723 individuals reached; 65,527 individuals reached to support mental health; 57,753 PreK-12th graders engaged to impact education outcomes; 2,588 Art & Learning Kits delivered; 2,545 educators trained supporting workforce development; 74 individuals mentored and trained in the Digital Solutions program

We believe that children should be at the center of any approach to creating a brighter future for our communities.  We have the greatest impact on children’s development when we involve those who support their growth: caregivers, educators and school administrators, and community members.  Therefore ST takes a 3-prong approach to programming:

  • Directly impact children
  • Train and coach adults to be more effective leaders of learning at home, in school and throughout communities
  • Develop parents’/caretakers’ understanding and engagement

ST programs have a lasting impact on participants. Our partners and teachers report improvements such as:

Better test results- program partners consistently report 10% and greater improvements in test scores

Attendance- teachers report student attendance is highest during ST programs

Engagement- when ST artists perform or teach, community members get excited and show up, increasing attendance at school and community events

Inspiration- educators report feeling reinvigorated to teach and reconnected with what made them become teachers

We prioritize making this approach accessible to communities within the following demographics:

  • Title One schools
  • High Poverty
  • Students with disabilities
  • Students performing below grade level
  • English for Speakers of Other Languages
